It was in 1979, the beginning of the electronic revolution in India, that was founded. Starting with the production of just 1/4 W Carbon Film Resistors, the company has been adding to its range of products, specialising on a full range of Metal Film, Carbon Film, Metal Oxide and Wire Wound resistors. In its never-ending quest for excellence and growth, watts has entered the field of marketing of Chip Resistors also.

watts products have been tested and approved for sensitive applications like instrumentation, defense and telecommunication. Most major multinational and Indian manufacturers use watts resistors in their test / measuring instruments, telecommunication systems, consumer electronic equipment and CFL/ Ballast Industry for their quality, price competitiveness and timely supplies.

Strict quality control - from raw material to finished product - is ensured by a well-planned and effective quality management system in the organisation. The use of state of the art equipment and a commitment to continuously up-date technology and equipment has kept the company in the forefront all these years.

watts started marketing of Chip Resistors, manufactured by a reputed Taiwan manufacturer under the watts brand name in 2004 and have been able to establish a strong presence in the industry. The Company has also started marketing Diodes & Electrolytic Capacitors manufactured by a leading Chinese Company. watts has set up a complete R & D lab and test equipment to check all relevant parameters for diodes and chip resistors and all products are guaranteed for their quality.

In the year 2010, the Company set up a production line for the manufacture of Compact Fluorescent Lamps. The Company manufactures CFL in the range 5 watts to 85 watts and also markets lighting products such as tube lights in the states of Kerala & Tamilnadu. Energy saving lighting products using LED technology have also been introduced to complement the existing lighting products. Ceiling fans are the latest product to be introduced and this division is expected to grow over 25% year on year.

The Company set up a Wind Power Generator at Ramakalmedu in idukki District of Kerala in 2008 having a capacity of 750KW and has been supplying electric power to the KSEB since them. watts produces more electric power than it consumes and contributes to the renewable energy drive of the Govt. of India.

In the years to come, watts aims to add on more products of internationally accepted quality to its product line - always keeping the customers' requirement in focus.

Committed to manufacture reliable resistors

watts manufactures a wide range of globally reliable resistors. watts was originally equipped to manufacture 1/4W Carbon Film Resistors with a fully automatic production line which has a capacity of 48 million pieces a year. Today, the company has five production lines at its plant in Cochin with a total production capacity of 1000 million resistors per year.

Committed to clean energy

watts believes in contributing to the clean energy drive. watts generates electricity from wind at the wind farm in Idukky district, Kerala. The power generated here is supplied to the Kerala State Electricity Board, helping significantly in meeting the target of producing renewable energy set by the Government of India.
